Butterfly Fabrics was born in 1984 with a strong vision behind it; this vision
has helped it to bloom. The first shop in Cardiff was established in 1989 as a
partnership between a husband and wife team. She is a designer dressmaker
and with over 40 years of experience creating bespoke outfits and wedding
dresses, her knowledge and eye for detail has been invaluable. They have
travelled Europe and the world to source and hand pick delightful ranges of
beautiful fabrics.

Their combined devotion, expertise and hard work of over 30 years have
enabled Butterfly Fabrics to expand to become experts in the fabric retail
world. They maintain close relationships with their suppliers to provide the
highest quality and largest range of in-vogue fabrics to their wonderful
customers all over the UK.

Butterfly offers an extensive and exclusive range of patchwork and quilting,
fashion, bridal, evening, woolen, knitted and woven, fancy dress and
theatrical, specialist hi-tech fabrics, curtain, upholstery and soft furnishing
fabrics. They stock thousands of fabrics-on-the-roll for you to enjoy and spend

They are one of Wales’s largest, independent fabric shops and as well as
